Pondicherry Engineering College (PEC) is one of the premier government engineering institutions in South India. Established in 1984 under the Seventh Five-Year Plan, the institution was upgraded into Puducherry Technological University (PTU) in 2021. It is the first technological university in the Union Territory of Puducherry.

The institute is spread over a 180-acre campus at Pillaichavady and offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in Engineering, Science, Management, and Computer Applications. It is known for its strong academic culture and affordable fee structure.
