Assam Women’s University (AWU) is a public state women’s university established in 2013 and located in Jorhat, Assam. It is the first women’s university in the state and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes primarily in sciences, commerce, management, humanities and social sciences, with a focus on women empowerment and skill development in Northeast India.
