JEE Advanced 2026 (Joint Entrance Examination Advanced) is a national-level engineering entrance exam conducted by one of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) on a rotational basis for admission to undergraduate programs (B.Tech, B.E., Integrated courses) in IITs across India.


Only candidates who qualify JEE Main and rank among the top 2.5 lakh are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. It is considered one of the toughest engineering entrance exams in India.

- Must qualify JEE Main 2026

- Must be among top 2,50,000 candidates (approx.)

- Passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

- Maximum 2 attempts in consecutive years

Based on Class 11 & 12 (Advanced Level):

- Physics: Mechanics, Electrodynamics, Optics, Modern Physics

- Chemistry: Physical, Organic, Inorganic (deep conceptual level)

- Mathematics: Algebra, Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Vectors & 3D

- Two Papers: Paper 1 & Paper 2 (both compulsory)

- Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

- Question Types:

  - MCQs

  - Numerical Value Questions

  - Match the Following

  - Paragraph-based Questions

- Duration: 3 Hours per paper
