CMAT 2027 is the Common Management Admission Test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBA, PGDM, and other management programmes offered by AICTE-approved institutions across India. What is CMAT?
CMAT, or the Common Management Admission Test, is a national-level computer-based entrance examination conducted by NTA. It evaluates candidates for admission to management programmes in AICTE-approved colleges, universities, and institutions across India.
CMAT scores are accepted by more than 1,000 participating management institutes. Popular institutions that accept CMAT scores include JBIMS Mumbai, BIMTECH Greater Noida, and several other leading B-schools, although each institute follows its own shortlisting and admission process.
Unlike CAT, CMAT includes a dedicated section on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, making it relevant for candidates interested in startups, business innovation, and entrepreneurship-focused MBA programmes.
CMAT 2027 Exam Date
NTA released its examination calendar on 16 September 2026, according to which CMAT 2027 is provisionally scheduled for 7 February 2027.

CMAT 2027 Registration
CMAT 2027 registration is expected to begin in the second week of October 2026 and continue until late November 2026. The application process will be completely online through the official NTA-CMAT portal

NTA may extend the registration or fee-payment deadline, as it has done in previous CMAT cycles. Therefore, candidates should not wait until the final date to submit their application.
Application Fee
Based on the CMAT 2026 fee structure, the expected CMAT 2027 application fee is:

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements to apply for CMAT 2027:
A bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
Final-year undergraduate students are also eligible to apply.
There is no age limit for appearing in CMAT.
NTA does not prescribe a minimum graduation percentage for appearing in the exam.
Individual participating institutes may set their own minimum percentage, work-experience, or other eligibility conditions during admission.
Final-year students may be required to submit proof of graduation at the time of admission or as specified by the respective institute.
CMAT 2027 Exam Pattern
CMAT 2027 is expected to follow the same pattern as CMAT 2026. It will be a computer-based test conducted in a single shift for 180 minutes (3 hours).

Each correct response carries four marks, while each incorrect response leads to a deduction of one mark. Unattempted questions do not carry negative marking.
CMAT 2027 Syllabus
The CMAT syllabus covers five major areas:
Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation: Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, mensuration, percentages, ratios, time-speed-distance, profit and loss, tables, charts, graphs, and data interpretation.
Logical Reasoning: Coding-decoding, blood relations, syllogisms, clocks, calendars, directions, series, puzzles, seating arrangements, and critical reasoning.
Language Comprehension: Reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, sentence correction, para-jumbles, idioms, and verbal ability.
General Awareness: Current affairs, business, economics, politics, history, geography, science, sports, awards, and static general knowledge.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Entrepreneurship concepts, startup ecosystem, business models, innovation, funding, leadership, and general business awareness.
Since Quantitative Techniques, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, and Data Interpretation overlap with CAT and XAT, many MBA aspirants prepare for CMAT along with these exams.
How to Apply for CMAT 2027
Once NTA opens the CMAT 2027 registration window, candidates can apply through the following steps:
Visit the official website: cmat.nta.nic.in.
Click on the CMAT 2027 registration link.
Complete new registration using a valid mobile number and email ID.
Verify the details through OTP.
Log in using the application number and password.
Fill in personal, academic, category, and communication details.
Select preferred exam cities.
Upload a recent passport-size photograph, signature, and other required documents as per NTA specifications.
Pay the application fee online through UPI, net banking, debit card, or credit card.
Review all details carefully and submit the application form.
Download and save the confirmation page for future reference.

Admit Card
NTA is expected to release the CMAT 2027 admit card a few days before the examination, likely in late January or early February 2027. Candidates will be able to download it from the official website using their application number and date of birth or password.jagranjosh+1
Before the admit card, NTA may release a city intimation slip, informing candidates about their allotted exam city. The admit card will contain details such as the candidate’s name, roll number, exam date, reporting time, exam centre address, and exam-day instructions.
On exam day, candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid photo ID proof, such as an Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, voter ID, or driving licence.
Answer Key and Result
After the examination, NTA is expected to release the provisional answer key along with the candidates’ recorded responses. Candidates will generally get a short objection window to challenge specific questions by paying a nominal fee per question.

CMAT 2027 Cutoff
NTA does not release a single official CMAT cutoff for all colleges. Each participating institute prepares its own cutoff based on factors such as:
