entral University of Karnataka was established in 2009 by an Act of Parliament under the Central University Act, 2009. Located in Kalaburagi (formerly Gulbarga), the university aims to promote higher education and research in the Hyderabad–Karnataka region.

CUK offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes across arts, science, commerce, management, education, law and social sciences. With NAAC A+ accreditation, modern campus infrastructure and affordable education, CUK is regarded as one of the important central universities in South India.
