Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU) was established in 1973 and later declared a Central University in 2009. Located in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, the university is named after Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, a renowned freedom fighter and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

HNBGU offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes across arts, science, commerce, management, law, education and engineering.
