Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University (KBVSASU) is a public state university located in Nalbari, Assam. It was established in 2011 by the Government of Assam to promote Sanskrit, ancient Indian knowledge systems, Indology and traditional studies.
The university evolved from the historic Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya (Assam unit) and focuses on undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral education in Sanskrit and allied disciplines.
It is one of the few specialized Sanskrit universities in Northeast India.
